Good Food for a Healthy Baby - Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP)
Connections runs the Good Food for a Healthy Baby Program in partnership with the Public Health Unit. It is available to women and their partners during pregnancy and up to three months after the baby is born. Participants get together to cook, eat, receive support and information, and take home healthy food, milk and prenatal vitamins.

|
The groups:
- Operate as informal drop-ins
- Are held weekly, for 2 hours per week, in Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, Brockville, the Town of Prescott. Held monthly in Perth.
- Are staffed weekly by a Program Facilitator and biweekly by a Nutritionist and Public Health Nurse. They collectively answer questions, share information, offer support, and model both personal and baby care
- Offer a community kitchen every 2 weeks, where participants cook a healthy, low budget meal, eat together, and take home recipes and leftovers
- Offer group discussions with quest speakers (e.g. infant feeding, budgeting, food safety, comfort measures during labour and delivery), along with juice and a snack on alternate weeks
- Can provide transportation, if needed
The "take home" food and milk is available to all pregnant and breastfeeding women.
